This article explains that STEM students at U of M are creating a way for human urine to become a fertilizer. This project involves a custom toilet that re-routes solid waste to the waste plant but liquid waste to a special tank. This tank allows the students to conduct research on how they can possibly make fertilizer out of urine. STEM has allowed these students to get involved in something that can help us in the future fertilize our farms.
